In 1963, Pantone revolutionized the printing sector with the colorful PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM®, an innovative tool, composed of 500 colors, which allows you to select, communicate and faithfully reproduce uniform and accurate colors anywhere in the world. This tool organizes color standards through a proprietary numbering system and a series of color cards, which have now become the emblem of the Pantone brand.

From 1963 to 1983, Pantone established itself as the graphic arts industry standard for color specification, extending its “color library” to 747 shades. The Pantone color language is used by all color-conscious industries – textiles, apparel, beauty, interior design, architectural and industrial – and includes more than 10,000 color standards reproduced on a variety of media, including printing materials, fabrics, plastic materials, paints and coatings.
